F*ck!t Friday: Learn How To Park, A**hole!

    Imagine this:
You're running late, you get stuck in traffic, then when you finally arrive the only space left to park in is half way blocked by a Hummer in the "Compact" space.

Gritting your teeth you think to yourself, "Doesn't this bastard know how to read?"

Well, maybe he does and maybe he doesn't. So the best way to make sure he doesn't ever do this to another person is by pointing him in the right direction. You know, school him a bit. Leave a note with this website address on it:

    YouParkLikeAnAsshole.com

Is that site for real, you ask? Well, see for yourself!

    Photobucket

Don't think of it as being a hater, think of it as doing the public some good. I mean, it's possible some of these people don't know they're being assholes, so someone needs to tell them. And that someone can be YOU! Be a good Samaritan!

And for those that KNOW but could give a rat's ass about other people finding parking, well... you're something I like to call as someone suffering from Bitch Ass Syndrome. There's no known cure, but it can be kept under control by A Strong Backhand.

Anyway, moving on... here's a couple more pages from the site:

    And speaking of stupid parking...

    Alritey, that's all!
    Happy Friday!

PS: Thanks to my buddy, Michelle, for posting this on FB after her neighbor got a notice. HILARIOUS. That's how I found out the site existed.

First I want to thank everyone who supported my giveaway by re-blogging about it and of course those who entered... and most especially those who followed the rules!
Would you believe some people had the nerve to give ME rules about what I should do about their entry and what info they refuse to give me unless they win? LMAO, like seriously? This was a random giveaway, nothing serious... geeez.

    Anyway,
    And the winner is...

    Tid Bits

I'm fresh out of idearz on what to blog about, so I'll just show y'all a few things that have caught my attention. All pictures are direct links to the specific items that are pictured. So if you're interested, click away!

These next couple of pictures are from the NYX newsletter. I believe these are new items and I don't know anyone who's ever tried them but NYX products are usually well made and very comparable to high-end brands. They look really nice and when I have extra cash, I'm definitely gonna be trying them out.

This one speaks for itself, the 5 for $25 that VS always has is already such a great deal, but when they throw in 2 more in the mix? Hell yea... good shit.
    Photobucket

This one is from the Free People newsletter. I love maxi dresses, and I've even seen the tank-style maxi dresses. However, I'm not sure how I feel about this style. I mean, it's not ugly... paired with the right accessories it can definitely work for some people. I dunno... I might have to see one in person. What do you think?
    Photobucket

Okie dokie... that's all I have for now. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

    PO: She Loves Me

Don't let her tell you different!
I forgot when this picture was taken, but that's me with one of my main BFF's, Melly (16 years now?). The pup in my arms is Jaspar, a dog my other friend was puppy-sitting.

This picture is the essence of our friendship. I'm always happy and she's always got something negative to say. LMAO, I know she's gonna come across this post one day, that's why I purposely picked this picture. =) Love you smelly butt!

Extra, Extra, Read All About Me

what is one outrageous thing you want to do before you die?

I want to go sky-diving with a celebrity strapped to me. I'm not sure which celebrity I want to take the plunge with yet, but it's gotta be someone VERY famous.

what is the greatest thing ever invented?

    sliced bread.

I'm just kidding... I don't really know... actually, there's plenty of really great things. Probably the refrigerator since we always have leftovers.

Ok I got a question. U and kirby hooked up at a young age would u say that you feel like ur missing out on the dating world? I mean dating in your twenties. by missjaclynrose

In my very early 20s, like 20-22, yes. Hell, even when I was 18-19. It wasn't so much that I wanted to leave him, but more like I wish I could let loose like some of my girls did. You know, the college parties, GNO 2x a week, shit like that. But then during the year that I was 22, tragedy struck me 3x. Two very good friends of mine passed away, and my niece, by way of a childhood friend that I consider a sister, her baby passed at 9 months of age. That was the absolute toughest year ever, and I hope no other year ever comes that close. And because Kirby was with me, helped me get thru it, I realized that life is about more than being able to do what the hell you wanna do. It's about spending every moment doing the things u want to do with people you want to spend it with. That's when I knew that spending my moments with Kirby is what I want to do for the rest of my life. That's how I know I wasn't missing much to begin with.

    Do you like to cook?

I guess it's safe to say you're not a long time reader/follower/friend of mine. No, I don't. I'm horrible at it, like... really horrible. LOL

Whatcha doin' this weekend? by ClumpsOfMascara

Oh I wish I had something fabulous to tell you... but... probably nothing. Hopefully the weather stays beautiful and my BF and I can hit up the beach or something.

If you were offered $100, and all you had to do was get your feet tickled for an hour, would you do it? Why or why not? :)

oh man... i'm pretty sure i couldn't last but i'd damn well try!

You're in a committed relationship with your significant other and you suddenly find out you have to be in a long distance relationship with this person RIGHT NOW. Would YOU last? (You're not married, and you have no kids) by tinamarieonline

that's a toughie, but i'll be honest. I'd probably have to let the relationship go. Knowing how I am, there's no way it could work out. If it's true love, I believe life will find a way for me to move to where he went or for him to come back to me.

aside from neutral colors, what's your fave eyeshadow color combo that you like to use on yourself? by missjaclynrose

olive green and a dirty gold. I use to like teal and bright blue but I guess I toned down with age.

who do you think is or would be harder to raise, a boy or girl? by missjaclynrose

probably a girl. Cuz after a certain age, boys will get in trouble but kinda raise themselves sort of. with girls, after a certain age they get their periods, then you gotta worry about them getting pregnant, etc.

are you friends with any exes? if yes, how does your current bf/hubby feel about it? by missjaclynrose

not friends, but not enemies. he doesn't care cuz he's the same with his. the question is, do *I* care hahahaha jkjk

twitter, tumblr, blogger, facebook, myspace... which social networking site do you use the most and why? by missjaclynrose

    facebook cuz it has games.

to spot clean your foundation brushes, what do you use? (i need suggestions, =P) how often do you deep clean your makeup brushes? and how do you deep clean your brushes, what do you use? by missjaclynrose

I never really spot clean, every other week I wash them with liquid soap and warm water.

Which do you prefer: red sauce pasta or white sauce pasta? by tinamarieonline

Oh that's a tough one... I guess it would depend on the noodle? LOL, I prefer red sauce on stringy noodles and white for non-stringy kind like penne & rotelle (sp?).

ms. thang, why are you so damn fabulous?! haha. ;) by tianani

because I surround myself be other faaaaabulous people like YOU daaahhhling!

Name a song you know all the words to. by tinamarieonline

My Girl - The Temptations. I'm an oldies fan and it helps that karaoke'ing is full of oldies and this is one of the easiest songs ever... that plus I genuinely really love it =)

What got you started on blogging?

I've had a blog since before I even knew it was called "blogging". I had a website (on Geocities) before that showcased my pictures, shit I liked, and random thoughts. After awhile, I discovered Xanga which I "tried" to keep as an open diary but I couldn't decide if I wanted my thoughts private or put out there. Plus, many years ago, Xanga layouts sucked balls. So I moved on to another place, stayed there for awhile talking about random shizzles... until I realized that it was ok to talk about "specific" things. That's how I began to concentrate more on beauty & fashion, then I realized it was kinda hard for people to keep track of me cuz my then-current blog didn't offer RSS, so I moved on over to Blogger.

    favorite drugstore?

Probably CVS because of the Extra Bucks and weekly BOGO's. Otherwise, most of my shit comes from Target.

    WTH: Thiiiiis Bitch...

If you're planning on browsing, skip this post and head to another one.

Otherwise, this post is gonna need at least 10-15 minutes of your time and you'll see why.

Last year some chick named Desiree Jennings claimed she got "Dystonia" from a flu shot. Watch the video.

Now, whether she really got a 2-week case of Dystonia or not, I don't know. But I believe the bitch is crazy or just a flat out attention-whoring. The reason this irked me is because real people, kids included, suffer from Dystonia and ain't none of them got it from a damn shot OR were any of them cured in 2 frikken weeks. She deserves all the bad karma she can get cuz people out there are suffering and her crazy ass decided she was gonna appear on national TV for whatever sick kick she got out of it.

This is a video of real kids that really have Dystonia. I'll warn you, it's a little hard to watch especially if you have a soft spot for children.

    That's it.
    I'm done.

    Feeling Kinda Flat...

    ... But a good flat =)

About a couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by a representative from Misikko.com to see if I would be willing to review a product for them, specifically a flat iron. Not being a dumb-dumb, I jumped at the chance!

A few days later, the UPS man came a-knockin' and this is what he had for me...

I felt so special, this is how it looked like when I first opened the package.
    Photobucket

Awww, it even came with a letter =)
    Photobucket

Here's everything that was inside... wowsers, right?
    Photobucket

Here's a better look at the product I'm reviewing.
The Hana Professional 1" Flat Iron in Pink
    Orig. $204.99,
    Sale $119.99
    Photobucket

It comes with a little booklet, like an owner's manual sort of thing. I didn't feel it was necessary to take pictures of all the pages, but I did want to share a couple of important pages. First is the SAFETY & WARNING page. I felt this was important only because with a pretty pink like this, people could easily forget that it IS a professional flat iron, capable of reaching well over 425 degrees in like 5 seconds!
    Photobucket

Next is the OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS page. A lot of people tend to think the hotter the better, which isn't necessarily true. Your hair's health should be priority, therefore it's really important to know what your hair's condition is so that you can choose the appropriate degree of heat accordingly.
    Photobucket

    OK, ON TO THE REVIEW

So here's a little back story on my hair. It tends to frizz up at the tips when dried naturally, so sometimes I like to sleep in a bun so that when I wake up I'll have nice waves. MOST times however, the waves aren't so nice. Case in point, check the picture below.
    Photobucket
Don't mind the smiley face, it was early in the morning, I just washed my face and decided it was the perfect opportunity to try the product. Yea, so not only was my face in the nude, it was also puffy and oh gosh, let's not go there. LOL

After just 15 minutes, I looked like this.
    Photobucket

    WHAT I LOVED ABOUT IT:
The heat-up time, is seriously damn near instantaneous! Like, I turned the iron on, set it between 370-450 degrees, and in like 2 seconds the little red lights starts flickering letting me know it's done. Plus I did a combination of little sections (1" or less of hair) to big sections (2"-3" of hair) and the iron was able to handle it ALL. I have a lot of layers so that's why my hair doesn't look pin-straight, but for the amount of hair I have on my head, 15 minutes is making GOOD time. I bet that if I spent 10 more minutes and only did 1" sections, it would be super, super straight.

Regarding the iron itself, aside from the fact it's a gorgeous, bright pink color, I was really surprised at how lightweight it is. I've had other professional irons bought from beauty supply stores, none I've had is as light as this. That actually made me skeptical at first, I thought how could this fragile looking thing handle my crazy thick hair? To my surprise, it handled it and handled it well. I also like that the ON/OFF switch is on the inside of the clamp, as oppose to the sides. I've had an iron where the switch/button was on the side and I would sometimes accidentally push on it while I was doing my hair. Having the switch on the inside of this product is a sigh of relief, knowing that I can just use it without having to worry if I accidentally turned it off. I also like heat dial, because it allows me to choose between numbers. Like I mentioned above, I set between 370 and 450 degrees because I don't need 450 but I want more than 370.

    WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED:
I don't know if all irons do this, because all the ones I've ever had have but it pulled out a couple strands. LOL, I can't really say it's the fault of the product, it could be the way I was doing it (after all, I did grab larger sections of hair). But I just wanted to mention that cuz it hurt. However, I really don't care much, those strands were probably weaklings that didn't deserve to stay on my head anyway.

    OVERALL:
I really, reaaally recommend this item if you're looking for a 1" iron that's capable of high heat, is lightweight, and pleasing to the eye =)

    WHERE YOU CAN GET IT:
Misikko.com is the company that graciously sent it to me for review. They have a wide selection of professional flat irons. If you scroll back up to the picture of just the Hana Flat Iron, that's a direct link to product I just reviewed. But if you just feel like browsing, don't really know if this iron is exactly for you, the website contains a section called Best Flat Irons. There you'll see a list of top of the line products, what they're best for and such so you can compare each one side by side, and see which suits you best. They've also got the famous Chi Hair Straighteners available in several different models. Don't think that irons are all they do, they have Professional Hair Dryers as well, some very highly rated ones such as the T3! But the best part of this site (to me at least) is the Beauty Tips sections. There you'll find videos of how to care for your iron, how to curl your hair with an iron, etc. That way, even if you're still shopping around for that perfect flat iron for you, you can see all the different things you could do with it before you buy =)

They even threw in the heat protector.
    Hana ShineShield
    Orig. $49.99, Sale $29.99
    Photobucket

This is a drop of it, it's really runny as you can see. Trust me, a little goes a looooong way, don't make the same mistake I did by thinking 'the more the better' cuz that mess left my hair really greasy. However, after some trial & error, I finally figured that when the directions say "small" amount, they mean "tiny". So yea, you've been warned =)
    Photobucket

This is what it says on the back of the bottle.
    Photobucket

The list of ingredients, no way was I gonna re-type all this.
LOL, what if I misspelled something?
    Photobucket

So there's my review of the Hana Professional 1" Flat Iron in Pink, hope you all enjoyed it or at least get a sense of what type of product you're looking for. If anything, please go check out the site I mentioned above. The site has a bunch of different features that totally help you have the best shopping experience possible. Like I said, they have a huge selection and a lot of their products even SHIP FOR FREE!
