Hey everyone! So this is gonna be my first year doing a hit-list type of thing. I mean, I've done lists for my favorite or most used products or whatever, but I've never made a hit-list strictly limited to a certain time frame. I don't think I'll ever be making a monthly list because I just don't buy that many things in a month's time, but this end of the year thing
could work.
So anyway, these are the top ten things I found myself using/wearing a lot since whatever date I purchased them, of course all are from this year. Let's just get started, shall we?
Buckle Wedge Booties
I got these from Macy's during the summer. They were originally around $50-$60 or something like that... but I got them during one of the bigger sale weekends for less than $30 including tax. I frikken loooooove these booties! They are very comfortable and offer a lot of ankle support (which I NEED!). The best part is they go w/almost everything in my closet, jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses, leggings... etc.
MAC A Tartan Tale
To me, this is like one of the best little kits MAC's come out with for some time now. Maybe I just love peachy tones, but I am absolutely in love with the colors! Ever since I've bought this, I've worn at least one of the colors from this kit almost every single day (if not two or all three colors).
Maybelline Quad
If I had to keep only ONE palette and get rid of all my other eye makeup, this is the one I'd choose. I've come up with so many different looks with this little palette. Anywhere from a fresh everyday face, to dark smoky eyes, and whatever else is in between.
Hana Flat Iron
I'm sure some of you are tired of me talking about this product, some of you might even doubt how I truly feel about it. Whatever your deal, I don't care cuz I truly LOVE this iron! I've taken it with me to every Vegas trip I've been to this year cuz I know it's the one thing I can count on to complete whatever look I'm going for. I usually create waves using this cuz it comes out so much cleaner than when I use my curling iron.
Wet'n Wild palette
If the world ever ran out of the Maybelline quad that I pictured above, then this is the one (other) palette I'd hold on to for dear life.
MAC Beauty Powder
This I got from
Jackie. I keep this in my makeup bag and take it w/me everywhere! It's kinda sheer so it's perfect for everyday, anywhere kind of look. I've used this as blush, contour, and bronzer. Versatile lil' thing!
Revlon lipstick
I have so many nude lippies but I had to narrow it down to just this one. It's creamy, it's glossy, and it's kinda moisturizing... kinda like a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid.
Sigma Synthetic flat top face brush
I got this in a
set of 3 (the other two are good but this one's my fave). I use it to buff on both liquid and powder foundations and the results never cease to amaze me. I have acne scars and this helps to dimish them by like... I dunno, a LOT! LOL, I haven't used it with mineral foundation or cream foundation yet, but because the hairs are synthetic, I'm sure this brush would be great for those too. I really don't know what else to say, it's one of those things you gotta see for yourself.
L'oreal Mascara
I wrote a review about the
original version for this mascara, and I didn't really think it was necessary to write another. Essentially, they're the same but this one's just bolder. I think it makes my lashes look longer and thicker than the original, but I don't think it's really all that obvious in pictures (the difference between the two). It's kind of just my preference, when I'm putting it on, I can SEE the difference, but in pictures it looks the same as the other one. Anyway, I love this thing a lot! I'm such a fan of the little spiky ball (in place of a wand). I think it really does the trick of accentuating the little hairs that normally don't even look like they exist.
got2b hairspray
When I first bought this, I really didn't think much of it. I just got it cuz there was a BOGO deal at Walgreens. But when I tried it, it was instant love. It does a really good job at keeping little flyaways away. I usually have my hair in a ponytail so I use this to keep the look polished as oppose to messy. It doesn't look greasy, doesn't feel sticky... and dare I say it, it's smells awesome. Like candy, but I'm not sure what, just sweet that's all.
Alrighty folks... that's it for this year's faves. I can't wait for whatever new loves 2011 will bring me!Toodles!
