Day 30 — Your favourite nail polish

I don't have one.

I used to be a polish type of girl but eh... after awhile I just stopped caring. I love them on other people though... I love funky colored french tip styles most. And occasionally I'll treat myself to some press-ons (which I think turn out just as good, for me anyways, as those done professionally at salons that can easily cost 3x as much.)

Day 29 — Photo of something that makes you go awww

Many things make me go "awww..." but the one thing that always, as in never ever fails, to make say "awww..." are pictures of puppies =)

Day 28 — Your favourite drink

So I looked for a picture of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf's Ice Blended White Chocolate Dream... but it seems they all belong to personal blogs or other social networking sites. I didn't wanna just jack someone else's pic so here, click this. That'll lead you to a google image search of the drink. The drink does come hot as well, but I prefer the cold one even on a cold ass night.

Now if we're talking alcoholic drink, I love's me some Hennessy! Want proof? Ha, I DEFINITELY got a picture for this one...


And that's my lil girl Henney in the back for those that don't know... named after mommy's favorite drink!

PS, don't judge me... Fight your own demons! Hahaha

Seriously though, I didn't actually finish all those bottles... I mean I helped, but it wasn't all me. The picture, btw, was taken just before we went to go recycle them =)

Day 27 — Your favourite skincare product

As most of you already know, I'm not fancy schmancy girl... I like to keep it simple and this product is simple...




I love this stuff! It's not greasy, it's available in all drugstores and mass retailers, and the stuff actually works!

I used to have A LOT of redness due to having a lot of acne a couple years back. The acne subsided over time but I still had plenty of redness that I would refuse to go to the gym w/o foundation. Because I've been using this product for some time now, I can honestly say that I can just head out the door w/o any makeup on.

I'll be honest though, it's no miracle treatment, it does take time and I still have some redness. But I truly believe this product really helped my skin heal. And I think if I keep at it, I should be completely good to go by next year.

Another thing I'd like to point out is, something about the way this product is formulated makes my skin feel smooth, so I've also been using it as a primer. It's kinda pricey for a drugstore item though, it's like $16.99 or something like that, but I usually wait for a sale or a coupon to come along then I stock up =)

Day 26 — An Item from your wish list

Oh man... this is a tough one...

I don't really have a wish list. I don't really want too much material stuff, usually if I see something I like, I just buy it if the price is right. If the price is too high for my blood, I let it go and get over it or I slowly save up for it, but I still don't think too much of it to actually have a wishlist full of stuff.

I guess if I had a wishlist it would contain stuff that I can't just buy on a whim like liposuction or a new car... or stuff I can't buy like marrying a Jabbawockee or something like that, LOL.

Yea... sorry.... NEXT!

Day 24 — Your favourite food

Italian food... Italian anything!

I understand Italy is very rich in culture and all the different parts of Italy are very unique from eachother, but I love it ALL. Bring it, I'll eat it!

Knee Deep in MuD

Over the weekend, my sister and I attended a complimentary class over at Make-up Designory or MuD in Burbank, CA.

The topic of the class was Smoky Eye. I, and not to toot my own horn, but I already consider myself pretty good at creating a great smoky eye, so I really only attended the class because I was skeptical of the whole thing. Nothing against the company or anything, I know they do great work. I've seen it. It's just that I wasn't sure I could really learn anything new.

Anyway, so a few minutes into the demo, and wow... slap in the face, foot in the mouth... let's just say I got a long way to go before I consider myself "great" at anything LOL.

The instructor was none other than MuD's own Lead Make-up Artist, Sean Conklin. He's a real awesome guy, btw. My sister and I were (like the nerds that we are) the first ones in class and he was very welcoming.

Anywhooz... after the class, they held a workshop where you can apply makeup to someone else (friend or whoever) and there would be a MuD makeup artist to help you with your technique and such. Unfortunately, we didn't get to stay for that part of class because we we're starving and had to head out. We did, however, get a chance to go shopping in their MuD Shop. As attendees of the class, they gave us 30% off all MuD products. That said, I did some hauling...

It's kinda funny to me that they call this the "sheer" lipstick considering how pigmented it is. But regardless, this stuff is amazing! If you try nothing else from the company's line, you MUST try their lipsticks!

I didn't take these photos but I can guarantee none of these were retouched. The water is THAT blue. The sand is THAT white. I've only been there twice and I know for a fact that this is the place I want to spend the rest of my life in.

I Need A Sweetheart

I dunno what it is, but I've been on a heart-shape kick lately. If you remember my last Jewelmint post, I bought a heart-locket. I mean, it's not like I've bought many heart-shaped things, but I've noticed I'm attracted to many things with heart shapes on them.

Day 22 — What makes you happy

I'm a simple gal...
it doesn't take much to cheer me up =)


Having a job in an economy like this makes me happy.
Being able to walk and drive myself around makes me happy.

Waking up every morning knowing I made it another day makes me happy.


Especially when I wake up to hungry lil' faces like these...

Patience Is A Virtue

For awhile now, I've been searching for black wedges.
Nothing fancy, ya know? Just simple ones.
Last night, I found them =)


They're pretty stylish, they're comfortable, they fit me perfectly, they're not heavy...

But the BEST part about them?

They were on clearance!!!

I saved more than I spend!!!








It's shopping experiences like last night that make me refuse to pay full price for certain items. Sometimes I tell myself that if it ain't in my size by the time it gets on clearance, then it ain't meant to be =)

Day 21 — Your favourite lip stick

When in doubt, I can always trust one of these two...








They look similar in pictures but in person they're really not. The Revlon lippie has pink/blush in it but it's not as pink as it looks in the swatch. The VS lippie is a lot peachier than it looks in the swatch =)

Day 19 — Your favourite look from a beauty guru

Sooo...

I know I was probably supposed to pick a look that actually resembled what most people consider to be beautiful... but I DO think this is beautiful. I mean, it's no glamour shot, but just look at the details! This video is months old and I'm still in awe! Dude is super talented =)

Day 17 — Fashion Pieces that’s on your to-buy list

Every time I think about must have fashion pieces, I always think shoes and accessories.


Clothes are like foundation. You need it to fit you perfectly. But shoes and accessories are like eyeshadows and lippies. They make or break the entire look. Which is why you'll find me shopping for accessories/shoes a heck of a lot more than you'll find me bringing home a new shirt.

That said, these are just a few of the shoes and accessories that are on my to-buy list. I got all of these items from Neiman Marcus. I know, so unlike me cuz I'm quite the frugalista. But I admit, I love browsing the expensive stuff. Not to tease myself but because I think that if I know how something I want looks like (details like stitching, color, materials, etc.) then I'll have a much better sense of what to look for when shopping someplace less expensive (remember, inexpensive does NOT have to look cheap!). Although sometimes I admit, if I just can't find a good dupe of something and if it's something I just can't let go of, then I'd probably just shell out the bucks if it's available.

Why do I like it? Well, cuz it's unique. Some of that stuff is just flat out weird, but that's the beauty of it. It's like, something about the way Japanese folks think that make them think way, wayyyy outside of the box. And I don't mean to generalize, but it's definitely something I really appreciate about their culture.
