    Why You So Happy?

Sometimes I allow life to get the best of me.

I become angry. I begin to give up. I begin to crumble.
Then He takes my hand and shows me the little miracles that happen everyday to others, against all odds. He shows me that if He brought me to it, He'll bring me through it.

    Happy Thanksgiving everybuddy!
    Stay Blessed!

    A Lil Bit of Therapy

So it's getting to the end of the quarter for school, and your girl's stressing out over so much school work. I mean, I can handle it. I work pretty well under pressure and all the assignments have been fun to do, buttt... a little stress relieving via retail therapy here and there never hurt.

    Wedge boots from Target.
I have been eyeing these for over 2wks before I finally decided to buy. The reason it took so long was because I didn't wanna pay $28 LOL. So I was comparison shopping, but nothing else had all the elements that made me fall in love with this specific pair (suede, fur, laces, wedge, and comfortable). Either they had all the elements except wedge (which was a biggie for me) or it was wedge but not comfortable. So I took the plunge... I know it's still at a very affordable price, but when you're like me and you find crazy, great deals like this and this, then $28 becomes a real stretch.

    Photobucket
    Knitted beanies from F21
I love the colors on these! I've never been a big fan of yellow, but mustard yellow has always held a special place in my heart since my BF bought me that mustard bag from Cebu a few years back =) And this bright red-orange one I had to have. It's bright but not loud, so yea, loves! It's funny how these appeared on the sales receipt though, they were labeled as "mustard and tomato". LOL, for a second I felt like I was shopping for groceries.

    Photobucket
    Circle scarf from Express.
I didn't like how my face turned out in this pic but also didn't feel like taking a new one, so I did what any diva would. I put on some over-sized aviators and called it a day hahaha. But anyway, I really adore this scarf! It's so soft but so warm and I can pretty much wear it with everything I already own.

    Snapbucket,Set: Lomo,Filter: Lomoish,Vignette: Square Black
Faux-leather and stretch fabric skinny pants from H&M
If anyone follows me on twitter, you know that I'm looking for leather shorts. Well, I found them but they didn't really agree with me. So I got these instead which fit and look a hell of a lot better.

    Snapbucket,Set: Lomo,Filter: Lomoish,Vignette: Square Black
I'm not usually the first to go ga-ga for leather pants, but these were different because the seams are made of stretch fabric which makes them not only breathable, but also curve hugging!

    Photobucket
    Blazer from F21.
This is my favorite purchase recently. It fits like it was tailored specifically for me, which is very rare to find in an inexpensive item, when you're budget conscious like me. I think it was like $35 maybe? I forgot, don't quote me on it. But it wasn't just the fit that made me fall in love with this...

    Photobucket
Notice the slight sheen to the fabric? OMG, these pics don't do it justice at all. It's very classy, very polished looking in person. I also love the little sharp detail to the collar on it.

    Photobucket
And the other little detail that I adored was the pockets. First of all, they're real pockets. Not those sewn in pockets that don't hold anything that most inexpensive stores have. Plus, it's not your typical pocket. They're just slits on the side that won't add bulk to your waist, and it keeps your frame very streamlined.

    So that's all for now,
    Toodles!

disclaimer: everything pictured about, I paid for with my own money.

    Five Dolla Stretch

I tweeted these already but I thought they deserved their own post. If you're new to DTLA shopping, don't let some of the vendors fool you into spending more than what you would pay at a local boutique or even F21. You can definitely stretch a dollar, as a matter of fact, these are what five of those dollars got me.

    Studs and tribal-ish earrings

A set of 7 pewter bangles and 2 necklaces
    Photobucket

    2 rings

And when I say five dollars, I don't mean five dollars a picture.
I meant five dollars for EVERYthing.

What are some of your favorite DTLA or cheapie finds?

So Sexy It Begs to be Adored...

I've mentioned it awhile before but some of you may not remember or may not have subscribed to my blog yet then, so I'll say it again.

    I LOVE lingerie.

Not sure why, but there's something about sexy underthings that make the day brighter for me. It's like a naughty little secret that only one other person knows about... or maybe more, depending how naughty YOU are =)

Anyway, so I was extremely excited when I was invited by a rep from a subscription based online shop to visit their newly launched website.

    Enter...

    Photobucket

The brand new website created for and by women who love lingerie!

Like I've mentioned, it's a subscription based website but to become a member is no cost! And it's absolutely client friendly =) All you have to do is take a little quiz so that the stylist can put together a showroom for you, which is typically ready the following day, and you shop!

I just wanna highlight a few things I thought might be of interest, cuz ya know I hate when companies hide details so I've done the research for you!
    • There's no obligation to buy, but if you do want to buy, you get a full set (top/bottom) for only $39.95! (Psst... your first item is 20% off!)
    • Every month, you get a new showroom prepared for you, but you do not have to stick to suggested items, you can pretty much shop for whatever you want.
    • $39.95 is deducted from your account every month after your first purchase BUT you can always choose to skip a month and no money will be deducted.
    • You can earn credits for free lingerie just for inviting other lingerie lovers to purchase what they already love!
    • There's also this option to email your showroom to your "lover" and have him (or her, y'all know I don't judge!) pick out what they would like to see on you =)

Here's 3 of my fave sets so far

As you can see, there's definitely something for everyone. Whether you're a little more reserved or just flat out a "let's-do-this" kinda girl, there's definitely something for you! And besides? What's the harm done even if you're just looking around, right?

So definitely, go ahead and give this site a looksie, and feel free to share with me some of your faves =)

note: I was contacted by a rep to share their website, but I was not compensated for this post.

    MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

Ok, so I am uber, ooooooooober excited for the news that I am about to share with you =)
Sigma, in the next few weeks, is launching not one, two, or three... but FOUR collections all in time for the holiday hooplas. Since it would just be too overwhelming to drop the beauty brush bomb on us all at once, I'm actually really glad they're doing it in weekly increments beginning Nov. 21st. It gives me something to drool over every week until the end of the year =)

Enough babble, on to the collections!

    The Cities Collection
Launch Date: November 21, 2011 Photobucket

IN SIGMA'S WORDS: The Cities is Sigma Beauty’s special edition travel kit collection! The kits feature seven travel-sized brushes from our best selling Essential and Premium Kits (E05 Eyeliner, E35 Tapered Blending, E45 Small Tapered Blending, E60 Large Shader, F05 Small Contour, F15 Duo Fibre, and F30 Large Powder). The brushes are held in a travel-size container that turns into two brush holders to keep your brushes organized, even on the go. Each kit was designed to represent the beauty and excitement of the city it is named after. There are four kits in this exciting collection: London (brown), Tokyo (pink), Paris (red) and New York (black).

IN MY WORDS: Very similar to some of the travel kits they have now BUT the packaging might be better for some people since this doesn't come in a roll/clutch. The container turns into a brush holder which can prove to be quite useful if you're the kind of traveler that likes to have everything laid out and in plain sight. My pick for this collection will most definitely be the Tokyo (pink) set.

Make Me Up Collection – Travel Edition
    Launch Date: November 28, 2011

    Photobucket

IN SIGMA'S WORDS: The Sigma Beauty Make Me Up Travel Kits were designed for fun, yet practical makeup application on the go. Similar to the design of the full sized Make Me Up Collection, these travel sized kits contain seven colorful brushes held in a functional and stylish container (E30 Pencil, E40 Tapered Blending, E55 Eye Shading, E65 Small Angle, F30 Large Powder, F40 Large angled Contour, and F60 Foundation). The kits will be available in Black, Aqua, Coral and Purple.

IN MY WORDS: Quite frankly, I think these go hand in hand with the previously mentioned kit. So if you don't like the colors on that last kit, then you get 3 (cuz they both have black) more colors to choose from. Of course, since they both don't contain the same brushes, you can pick one from each collection and you'd be set for all your beauty/traveling needs! Personally, I'm excited over the purple one =)

    The Bunny Collection
    Launch Date: December 5, 2011

    Photobucket

IN SIGMA'S WORDS: The Bunny Collection is Sigma Beauty’s vegan friendly line of brushes. The collection will feature a full-size and travel-size kit. The full size kit will contain the twelve brushes sold in our Essential Kit, all made with the Sigmax HD fibers. The travel-size kit contains seven best selling brushes from the Essential kit. Both kits will be held in a Sigma Beauty container that turns into two brush holders.

IN MY WORDS: This is the collection I am most looking forward to owning. I HAVE to have this kit, there's just no buts about it. It NEEDS to be in my possession. That's it.

    The Extravaganza Face Kit
    Launch Date: December 12, 2011

    Photobucket

IN SIGMA'S WORDS: The Sigma Beauty Extravaganza Face Kit is a lavish assortment of one of a kind, hand-crafted brushes with 18 karat gold-plated ferrules. The face kit features four gorgeous, 18K gold-plated brushes and a deluxe carrying case, perfect for traveling and storage.

IN MY WORDS: I'm not sure I actually want this kit for ME, but because it looks so fancy and so pretty, I think it would make a great gift for any beauty enthusiast. So to all my friends who love beauty, be nice to me! And I just might cop this for you!

    The Extravaganza Complete Kit
    Launch Date: December 19, 2011
    Photobucket

IN SIGMA'S WORDS: The Sigma Beauty Extravaganza Complete Kit features 29 of our best-selling essential, premium and individual brushes. The brushes in this collection are hand-crafted with 18 karat gold-plated ferrules, specially designed to deliver a luxurious makeup application.

IN MY WORDS: I don't know if I need all of them, although it would be nice to have the entire collection, LoL. But, if I had to pick just ONE (cuz I know that's the dilemma that some of us budget conscious folks are) then I would pick the bottom set (face brushes). Why? Cuz I'm obsessed with face brushes and one of the best beauty advice I was given that I try to live by is, "Who's gonna care about your eye makeup if your face is a mess?" And I feel like that set would really help to achieve a flawless face.
