It's her "Cuz you got straight A's in school" gift.



I fell in LOVE when I saw these! They're not the usual thigh-highs. I love the faux leather/suede mix going on. I'll be honest, they are not the most comfortable shoes, in fact, they're half a size too big. But I just slipped some Dr. Scholl's insoles in them and they now fit like a glove =)



I think they'll be making their debut when I party it up for my bday in a couple weeks... I just need to figure out where to go LOL

The Random Tuesday Night That My BF Came Home w/a Snake

He said he found it between the spokes of his car, he tried to catch it so he wouldn't kill it. However, the snake slithered off so he and a friend decided to chase it. After 20 minutes, two grown ass men finally catch the little critter. Then he had the bright idea of taking it home because someone else might accidentally kill it. He comes home with a box, I asked what's inside, and he becomes really protective of the box and is really adamant about me (or anyone else) to NOT open it. I'm like, "Why? There's a snake inside?" He becomes silent. Imagine my face at this point, 0_o. The lil' guy has grown on me though, we even named it "Scales".


Meeting the Jabbawockez. Again =)

What. A. Night. And it wasn't just the thrill of meeting them, it was everything that happened after during that night in general. Good times, right Carol?

Finally Deciding to Persue MY Dreams And Go Back to School

It was a long time coming, but I have no regrets. I'm glad I did it.


My Niece and the rest of her HS Dance Team Taking Home 1st Place =)

Made me very proud (especially since she goes to the HS that I used to go to =) Alumni have to represent, right?). Also, she and the rest of the team really kicked ass that night. They worked so hard to earn bragging rights, esp. my niece who's really passionate about dance. *tears* She takes after me, ya'kno?!?! LOL

Butter Me Up

I knoooww.... I'm late.

But I just couldn't fathom paying over $6 for a drugstore lippie!!! So when I got $5 EB from CVS and plus they were having a "Buy 2 Revlon Lip or/and Eye and get $5 EB" deal, I couldn't pass it up =)

I'm not gonna do a review on these unless someone asks. The reason is there are so many reviews on these and the positive ones are pretty much on point with how I feel. I mean, why else would I go out of my way to purchase them??? Butttt.... If anyone is interested in my person opinion and would like me to review them, I'd be more than happy to do so =)

Basically, I love them! Soft, moisturizing, and there's plenty of colors to choose from! Although I can only judge from the colors I own, but I feel like pigmentation depends on the color you purchase. Because as you can see, Creamsicle is not nearly as pigmented as Tutti Frutti.

Anyway, overall, I do really like this product and do plan to purchase other shades. Anyone have any suggestions? Feel free to email or comment!

Best of 2011: Products

So last year, I started my own new tradition of compiling a "Best of (insert year here)".
Like I mentioned before, I simply do not buy enough things every month to post about hits and misses or whatever, so yearly is just more practical for me. These are in no particular order, just things I bought this year and really love, find most useful, most bang for my buck, etc.

Anyway, I'm gonna be describing these things as I go so let's just get started =)


Walgreens brand Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream


I got this sometime early November(?), I think. I read some pretty good reviews on it so I decided to give it a try since Walgreens has a pretty good return policy anyway. A couple years back, I suffered from severe acne which left my face scarred. I had a lot of dark marks from the scarring and my skin is very pitted. And in just as little a couple of months, I can see the difference with the help of this products. The dark marks are significantly lighter if not gone. My skin is still pitted but you can kinda tell even that is slowly improving (personally, I think only laser can get rid of that, which I'll have to save up for in the future). I plan on doing a full and detailed review on this product. I kinda want to wait a few more months before concluding anything though, so stick w/me. It's coming =)


Rosebud Menthol and Eucalyptus Balm

Industry Sandals from Hautelook

I wore these probably all summer long and got a few compliments on them along the way =) Best part was they retail for over $100 and on Hautelook they were only $25!  I love the soft, sweet scent of this stuff! I don't really see it shimmer, but that's ok. I wear this allover my neck and decolletage.

 My very first JM purchase and I am sooo happy with it. It slighty gaudy, edgy, and sweet all in one! This piece isn't available anymore but they do have a lot of goodies worth checking out. Clicking on the picture will take you straight there =)


MUD Lip Glaze in Bare and Magnolia

More than just a glaze, my lips actually feel smoother and softer after wearing! I wish there was a bigger color selection cuz I could totally see myself replacing all my MAC lipglasses with these.


Ben Nye Neutral Set

 This is holy grail stuff!!! Absolute amazing stuff! Sets makeup, keeps oilies away, translucent, doesn't make me breakout, and doesn't add any weight to your face makeup.


Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation

Worth the splurge, in my opinion!!! This foundation is like a primer, foundation, and concealer all in one and still manages to remain weightless. The product is great at keeping a matte face on its own for a couple hours, but when paired with the Ben Nye Neutral Set, oils do not stand a chance ALL day long. 


Precision Eyes Kit by Sigma

I have yet to review these guys but trust, I LOVE every single one of them. I have never found an entire set or kit of brushes to be useful until I bought this kit.

This isn't an official Sanrio product, but it's cute nonetheless =)


Black Scrunched Over the Knee Faux Suede boots from AMIClubwear

These were on clearance for $15.99 plus 50% off for Black Friday, so I doubt they're on the website anymore. But they do have lots of similar items, and lots of items in general. To visit the site I got this from, scroll over to my coupon button for AMIClubwear on the left sidebar (it also features a weekly code you can use for discounts!) These boots are surprisingly comfortable, too! Always a plus since a lot of inexpensive shoes tend to be on the stiff side.

She Gets Wild!

Well, today's the day =)

Wet n Wild Mega Plump Waterproof Mascara in Very Black

What is is:

Thickening, waterproof mascara

Where to get it:

How much:

I got it for $3.99 after $1 off coupon at CVS. Typical range for this product is $3-$5

What I like about it:

Holds curl very well!

What could be improved:

I know it's typical of waterproof formulas to have less plumping power, but I still would like more plump =)

Overall:

I really like this mascara overall. It does a very good job of defining and giving length to my lashes. Plus, as I mentioned, it does a fab job of holding the curl, which I really appreciate since my lashes are quite stiff and usually put up a good fight against curling. Also, at less than $5 a pop, you really can't complain. Totally recommend this product for everyday use =)

Call Me The Fashion Burglar...

'Cuz I'm so great at these steals!!!

So yesterday, I tweeted about this awesome deal I got from Macy's. 


If you look at the left-side and down towards the middle, it says "Orig 98.00". That means original price was $98. But if you notice, my total was only $21.32! I couldn't even believe it at first but the sales associate explained to me that markdowns like that usually happen when it's the last item of its kind and the store really wants to sell it.


Anyway, so what did I get?

Those that know me and/or have followed me, KNOW I have been on a hunt for faux leather shorts! The first pair that fit me well, I found much, much earlier in the year but I didn't get it cuz it was like $30 from F21. Too much for my blood considering it's just F21. Since then, I've been seeing them around a lot but everything in my price range didn't fit well, didn't even matter if I went up or down a size. Those that fit like gloves were too high in the price department. I was actually eyeing this pair a little while back but there's no way I was paying damn near a bill for shorts.

So yea, I thought maybe faux leather shorts and I just weren't meant to be together. But when I stopped by the mall yesterday, something told me to stop by Macy's. And I'm so glad I listened =) It was the fashion gods telling me that once again, my patience is a virtue!


Ok that's it =) Just wanted to share real quick cuz I was overjoyed and didn't wanna keep it to myself =)

They Come to Adore Me

A couple weeks back, I wrote about this new site:



The company has graciously sent me a set for review, so let me just take a moment to talk about my entire experience with them. Signing up was easy! All you have to do is take a short quiz that allows the stylists to kind of get a feel of what you're all about in terms of lingerie. About a day later, my showroom was ready for me to choose what I wanted. Though I loved my entire showroom; it was full of sultry, sexy little numbers that I know the man and I would have fully enjoyed, I decided to go with the "Madison" bra and "Addison" panty set.

My order was shipped the day after my order, and delivered just 3 days later! That's pretty impressive considering I really didn't think it would come in until next week! I dunno what it is, but something about internet orders, I always feel like they come in 2 weeks after you order so having my order sent to me in less than a week is a major plus in my book.

What I like about it:
Convenience.  I love that other people pick out such great picks for you but if, for whatever reason, you don't like anything, you can just choose to skip the month. Also, if you want more than one set, you can purchase whatever your heart (or your lover's heart) desires and still pay less than what other brands would charge for a sassy set.

What could be improved:
At this point, nothing really. I'm really happy with my first set.

Overall:
I'm actually very impressed with the quality of this set. I honestly didn't expect a lot because I'm used to paying over $40 for a really nice bra. That said, receiving a bra and panty set for less than $40 and having it very comparable to the top brands/designers was such a nice little surprise. Now, I won't show you but I WILL tell you the bra fits like a glove! The  under-wires didn't poke me but rather gave me a very nice lift considering the bra wasn't padded at all. It also really "cupped" me very well, which I always appreciate because it's so easy to "spill" out of ill fitting under-garments. The thong, I'm not really sure how to describe them except they weren't uncomfortable LoL. The lace used was actually quite sturdy. I was stretching them, and tugging on them, and they didn't run or unravel or anything like that.

I totally recommend this site for all lingerie lovers and enthusiasts like me =) Quality products, convenience, and a great price... seriously, what more could you ask for?
